The Ovation Agency launched in 2017 when two dynamic forces in business joined together to create a boutique marketing agency to support Independent artistic creators and entrepreneurs. It was, in fact the second time the newly minted Co-managing Directors had worked together. Allison Perkins-Thomas, fresh from her 11 year stint as Sr. Development Manager for the JDRF and Thornell Jones, Jr, a revered music industry Marketing maven with a 28 year tenure in the Entertainment Industry had spent ten years together as the marketing heartbeat of the legendary boutique record label Hidden Beach Recordings. While at Hidden Beach the duo was responsible for projects which launched or enhanced the careers of several of today’s artist brands including Country super-star Darius Rucker, multi-platinum Grammy(r) winner Jill Scott, Soul Train Award nominees Kindred The Family Soul, The Unwrapped(tm) series, two Obama campaign compilations (Yes, We Can! and Change is Now), and a Starbucks Exclusive Christmas release by Grammy(r), Dove and Stellar Award winning Gospel Superstar BeBe Winans. To bring marketing fire-power to the boutique operation, Perkins-Thomas was principally responsible for developing partnerships with a myriad of brands including NASCAR, General Motors, Alberto-Culver, ORS, Grey Goose, Courvoisier, Hennessy, Ciroc Vodka, Johnson Publications, Nabisco, Subway, McDonalds, and Station Casinos.
Since launching the Ovation Agency in earnest in early 2017, the pair has received applause from clients for their innovative programs and activations.
