On his sophomore project entitled “Robert Gee – The E.P.”, Robert Gee brings the sound of “Philly Soul” from his Hometown into the here and now. This project showcases Gee’s evolution as a singer/songwriter whose music and lyrics speak directly from his heart to the heart of his listeners.

“I dealt with the passing of two very special people in my life, my mother Thelma Gee and my best friend, powerhouse singer Vesta Williams. The new music reflects the pain, heartache and great life lessons I learned during a difficult time but they will also experience the passion and great joy of being on the other side of the storm and being able sharing my gift as a singer and writer. My life is a blessed life and oh so colorful to say the least. That is the story I’m telling on this release.”

“Robert Gee – The E.P.” was produced by music producer extraordinaire Grant Nicholas formerly with Flyte Tyme Productionswho has worked with artists such as Ne-Yo, Ledisi, Yolanda Adams, Musiq Soulchild, Toni Braxton, Angie Stone, Mya, Sy Smith, the late Teena Marie and is now scoring for TV and Film.

As a solo recording artist Robert Gee released his first CD titled All My Love to national and international acclaim. Gee wrote 4, co-wrote on 6 and an executive produced the entire project. The title song “All My Love” captured the attention of 111 East Records and was featured their first Neo Soul After Dark Compilation where it reached as high as #7 on Amazon.com’s Neo Soul singles. It along with the track” Here We Go” are featured on the Soundtrack of the Indie film release “Misunderstandings.” The single “Here We Go” spent 3 weeks in the #1 spot on London’s Morpheus Soul Show top 10 weekly countdown.

Discovered by Patti LaBelle as a teen during her triumphant run in Vinnette Carroll’s Broadway musical, “Your Arms To Short To Box With God,” Robert soon followed in that legend’s footsteps as an Amateur Night winner at the world famous Apollo Theater. Gee draws his inspiration from great soul men like Luther Vandross (who gave him his first job in LA), Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Peabo Bryson, Prince, Lionel Ritchie, Marvin Gaye to Usher. Gee has been singing professionally since the age of 15 and brings with him many years of experience as a front man for east coast Pop ,R&B and jazz cover bands. Playing everywhere from the nightclubs of Philly, New York and DC to The Grand Opera House in Armenia!

Gee’s stellar talents don’t end with singing. A very versatile singer/actor/dancer and classically trained as a Master class student of Seth Riggs – Speech Level Singing Technique, Broadway “go to” Edward Sayeg and opera diva Grace De La Cruz. Robert’s capable instrument masterfully crosses musical genres and even into the world of musical theater. Gee has starred in lead roles in outstanding theater productions such as the LA Drama Critics 2014 Best Revival winner and LA Weekly 2014Musical Of The Year “Dreamgirls,” “The Wiz,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Pippin,” Cy Coleman’s “The Life” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” which was the first “Rock style” theater production to ever play The Grand Opera House in Yerivan, Armenia. He also starred in “The Five Heartbeats – LIVE which was produced by Robert Townsend and Directed by former “Heartbeat – Dresser” Harry Lennix. “But it was a lesser known production called “Body Language” written by Micahel Ajakwe that would earn Robert a nomination from the 2006 NAACP Image Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Theater Production. He has received rave reviews for his stage work twice by the LA Times, LA Weekly, LA Theater Scene and Backstage West. He made his television screen debut in the made for TV movie, The Little Richard Story as “Bossman” on NBC.

In addition, Robert Gee has also made a great name for himself as a featured background artist working with music industry royalty such as Luther Vandross, Atlantic Starr, Teena Marie, Vesta Williams, BeBe Winans, Darryl Coley, La Shun Pace, Tevin Campbell, The Emotions, Kashif and Loose Ends.

Robert’s commanding stage presence and reputation as a show stopper won him the 2010 Black Music Associations Best R&B Male Vocal Performance award and a 2012 Hollywood Music In Media Award nomination for Best Soul/R&B song (I Don’t Want To Lose Your Love). In 2013 Gee was nominated by theCallywood Awards for Favorite Independent Artist. Robert Gee’s shine continues in 2015 as he prepares to release a new EP! With the critical success of his debut CD, All My Love, Gee is looking to build upon that success with his latest single “All This Love (Is For You)” from his upcoming album “ROBERT GEE – THE E.P.” slated for a top of 2016 release. Robert Gee’s future is bright as his star continues to rise!
